Concept
My pieces are inspired by the natural beauty of nature and its extraordinary landscapes. Each piece individually explores light, reflection, fluidity, and the interaction between glass and space. The creation of each piece embraces chance, capturing fleeting moments of beauty, which can never be repeated.
These singular moments become the origin of each one-of-a-kind piece.
I am constantly pursuing sculptural forms –– whether worn on the body or experienced within a space –– that embody a quiet yet powerful presence.
Biography
Raised in Kobe, Japan, as the daughter of a tea ceremony and ikebana sensei, I was drawn to Western culture and art from an early age. I began my career as a designer for a major apparel company, where I grew increasingly dissatisfied with the aesthetics of mass production. Seeking a more personal mode of expression, I moved to Italy to pursue further studies and develop my practice.
My work later shifted toward sculptural glass. I began creating chandeliers using an approach that was uncommon at the time, resulting in pieces that appear to float in space. Over time, my practice expanded to include wall installations that respond to architectural space, and eventually to glass jewelry.
Now based in Tokyo, I present my work to collectors and galleries in Japan and internationally. Through these encounters, I have found myself returning to the Japanese sense of beauty that has been with me since childhood.
